Notes - The identity of the wife of Philip BAKER is not known for certain. However, we do know that she was named MARY and BAKER family papers give her name as Mary HARNISH.
In the 1881 Census, Mary and Philip live two houses away from an Alfred HARNISH, who is immediately recognizable as William Isaac [Alfred] HARNISH, s/o George Isaac and Catherine Margaret (Young) HARNISH of Blandford. George Isaac has two daughters named Mary--Mary Elizabeth b. 11 Jul 1843, and Mary Victoria b. 04 Apr 1845. Now we know where the “right” Mary appears in both the 1881 and 1901 Censuses, and in both, her age consistently place her birth in 1843 (assuming she is born after 1 April).
So, barring any contradictory evidence, I tend to believe that she is Mary Elizabeth, d/o George Isaac and Catherine. [Bob H]
