Notes |
- When Ebenezer ROBERTSON m. Eliza CHURCH in 1868, he gives his residence as Minnestoa. Subsequently, in the Canadian Census and on her death record, she appears as a widow. But in 1900, Ebenezer ROBERTSON appears back in Minnesota with a wife named Belinda to whom he has been married for 29 years.
There is an 1869 NS divorce in which the parties are named ROBERTSON, but their given names are not listed. Also, in the 1901 Census, a woman who seems to be Eliza appears using her maiden name, CHURCH. So whether she is a "geographic" widow or divorced, it would appear that her marriage ended quickly.
