  The date of birth on his marker in Star of the Sea is 12 Sep 1882, and his DOB in the 1901 Census is 07 Apr 1881. Since we know he was baptised on 31 Oct 1881, at least the 1882 part of the date on his marker is suspect. My guess is that he celebrated his birthday on 12 Sep, but whoever inscribed the tombstone was unsure of the year of birth. As to the 7 Apr date, I would sooner believe his marker than a DOB in the 1901 Census, and 12 Sep is much close to a 31 Oct baptism that 7 Apr. [Bob H]
