- It is uncertain whether the person buried in the "SMITH Family Plot" in St. John's Anglican Cemetery, Halifax, with Walter SMITH is his wife or sister. On the one hand, he has a sister named Frances M. SMITH whose DOB in the 1901 Census is 9 Jun 1887. On the other hand, from his death record, he is known to have been married, but his wife's name is listed as Mrs. Walter SMITH. His occupation is listed as "Traveller", so their marriage location is unknown and no marriage record has been found (at least by me). Since, the age of the person buried in the family plot places her DOB in 1884, not 1887, the best guess is that she is Walter's wife..
