  Harold SLAUGHENWHITE was admitted to the Inverness County Asylum 4 1/2 years before his Oct 1939 death, so he does not appear to have been the father of John Leslie GILLIS, who was born about 1937, although it is possible. And, it is known that John Leslie did not adopt the GILLIS surname until after his mother's marriage to Duncan GILLIS; but Duncan GILLIS could also have been his biological father, even though His mother was married to Harold SLAUGHENWHITE when he died. And finally, his biological father could easily have been some unknown third person.
