  At least three independent records give her father as Dennis SLAUENWHITE. However, she appears in various records that show her maiden names as AULENBACK, LANGILLE, and "SWELLENBACH"; and while there is no proof at hand that she is the daughter of Dennis Micah SLAUENWHITE, all others appear to be ruled out. Family legend has it that there exists, somewhere, a Lunenburg Church baptismal record that names her parents. She appears to have been the illegitimate daughter of Eseline Seporah AULENBACK beCAUSe first, she appears to have been born on 25 Mar 1894; second, in the 1901 Census she is living with her AULENBACH grandparents, not Demas and Eseline (AULENBACH) LANGILLE, and her surname is listed as AULENBACH; and third, on her HECOX marriage certificate, her parents are given as as Dennis SLAUENWHITE and Eseline "AULENBERG". In the 1911 Census, she is living with Demas and her surname is listed as LANGILLE, and she is also listed in Demas LANGILLE's obit as a daughter.
