  The “smoking gun” that places Johanna, the wife of John George DOREY, in this family is her death record, which states that she is the daughter of George and Maria HARNISH. This can only be John George and Maria Elizabeth (Slauenwhite) HARNISH. In the 1981 Census of Mill Cove, George and Catherine DOREY, ages 78 and 65, are living with John Edward and Susan DOREY. Although the ages do not match, this would appear to be John George and Johanna [Harnish] DOREY. Since we know that Johanna dies in 1875, my guess is that she is named Johanna Catherine as it would be unusual for someone of her heritage not to have at least two given names.
