  The birth record for Sophia MAILMAN lists her mother as Elizabeth JETTA HARNISCH and her father as a [illegible] MEHLMAN. Elizabeth's husband, Edward HARNISCH must die bet 1793 and 1796, but John Charles MEHLMAN's first wife does not die until 1796. However, four moths after she dies, John Charles immediately marries Elizabeth Jetta HARNISCH. So the probability that he is the father of the illegitimate Sophia seem prohibitively high. The birth record for Sophia MAILMAN lists her mother as Elizabeth JETTA HARNISCH and her father as a [illegible] MEHLMAN. Elizabeth's husband, Edward HARNISCH must die bet 1793 and 1796, but John Charles MEHLMAN's first wife does not die until 1796.
