  Notes	While baptisms or Census records have been found for Mariah, Francis, and Edward, the only source for the six other children is a descendant of Joseph Howe WAMBOLDT. Other information he furnished has been corroborated, but the existence and placement of these six other children in this family has not. That being said, one of the six--Charles--does appear in the 1881 Census of Westfield, Queens, which adds credibility to the information.   What is known of Elizabeth Margaret HARNISH is that she marries a John MANSFIELD on 31 Dec 1823 and later, after being widowed, marries John WAMBOLDT. She cannot be a child of Caspar or Edward HARNISH, and since she marries in 1823, she could possibly be born as late as 1809, but it is more likely that she is b. in 1807 or before. The 1871 Census of Brookfield, Queens [family # 94], has her age as 60 and that of her husband, John WAMBOLDT as 57; this reinforces the notion that she was older than he, but is not credible as a source for her DOB. If she were the child of John Jacob, it would be a tight fit and it would force Elizabeth C. [Eliza] into the family of John George, where she would also be a tight fit. But if Eliza belongs to John Jacob, then Elizabeth Margaret fits into John George's family in a period where we know there must have been two unrecorded births, of which she would be one. But either way, Elizabeth Margaret is the daughter of a SLAUENWHITE mother. So, given the birth order evidence, until some more positive identification can be made she is placed with John George and Polly. [Bob H] Also see notes for Elizabeth C.
