  There is a great deal of evidence (family oral tradition, a sworn statement by a 91 year old man named Westhaver, and official record) that indicates strongly that both Percival Seymour Verge and Anastasia Wessel were the illegitimate offspring of Mikmaq women and both were subsequently raised by white step mothers.
