Notes - In 1835, the Jacob MOSHER who m. Peggy NAUGLER is a widower, so the question is--who was his first wife. Two different sources place his birth in 1797 and there is only one Jacob MOSHER born 1797. There is a marriage of a Jacob MOSHER to Maria FADER in 1827 and it is known that Maria dies bet 1829 and 1850 since, in 1850, her sister Helena sells land which Maria inherited from their father in Sep 1829. So if Maria FADER were Jacob 1797's first wife, all of the puzzle pieces would fall into place.
The problem is that there exists an 1829 death record for a Jacob MOSHER b. 1797. So either there is an otherwise unknown Jacob MOSHER b. 1797, or that 1829 death record (which appears in Shankle's but not in Stevens' transcripts of the ZLL register) is an error, and the most likely explanation is the latter. - In 1835, the Jacob MOSHER who m.
