Name Florence Mary HUBLEY Birth May 1885 New Germany, Lunenburg, NS [1, 2]
Gender Female Death Yes, date unknown Person ID I52957 A Few Relatives of Bob and Mary Hegerich Last Modified 9 Aug 2008
Father Richard Logan HUBLEY, b. 15 Mar 1858, Pleasantville, Lunenburg, NS d. 6 Apr 1932, Bridgewater, Lunenburg, NS
(Age 74 years)
Mother Deborah SPIDLE, b. 1853, New Germany, Lunenburg, NS d. Sep 1899, Pleasantville, Lunenburg, NS
(Age 46 years)
Marriage 27 May 1884 Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, NS [3]
Notes - This could be Deborah (Speidel) Ramey HUBLEY, but consider:
a. The last confirmed child of Richard Logan HUBLEY and Deborah SPEIDEL is b. 1889
b. The 1899 death notice for Mrs. Richard HUBLEY gives her age as 35 yrs when, by all accounts, Deborah would be about 50 in 1899
c. Charles W. Hubley is b. 1897
First, if Charles W. is the s/o Richard & Deborah, why are there no children between 1889 and 1897? Second, there is the problem of that age at death. Some, myself included, have suggested that Charles is the s/o Richard & Hattie as stated in Charles' obit. But if that were true and Deborah dies in 1899, it would mean that Richard had an affair with Deborah's daughter while all three were living under the same roof. I just do not believe that.
So, for the moment, Charles (see his notes) is carried as the son of yet another wife of Richard Logan HUBLEY. [Bob H]

Notes - The 1891 Census lists a Mary Hubley b. 1885 who subsequently seems to disappear. However, later documents list a Florence May HUBLEY who is exactly the same but not listed in 1891. [Bob H]
