  Her 1974 obit states that she was Mary Cecilia THOMAS, age 75, born St. Mary's Bay, NF, d/o Joseph and Josephine THOMAS, and the obtis for several of her children give her name as THOMAS as well. However, both her civil and religious marriage records lists her as Mary FELLAMY, d/o Joseph and Mary (MORRELL) FELLAMY of NF, and she clearly signs the marriage return slip with the name Mary FELLAMY. Further her marriage record states that she is a 21 year-old spinster born St. George's, NF. And finally, there is a [transcribed] birth record for a Mary Cecilia THOMAS b. 12 Dec 1889 at Port-au-Port, NF to Joseph and Josephine (MORRELL) THOMAS. Whether there she was born 1889 or 1898 is anyone's guess. As to her surname, it would appear that she was raised at some point, by a family named FELLAMY but was born a THOMAS. And since St. George's is in the vicinity of Port-au-Port, it would appear that she was born in that general area.
