    • The Feb 1917 death record for Nellie SLAUENWHITE of Halifax lists her father as Robert SLAUNWHITE, states that she is Catholic, is 6 yrs of age at death, and is buried at Terence Bay. And since she is six in Feb 1917, it would seem that she should appear in the 1911 Census.

      There are very few families into which she could reasonably fit, and the only one known to have a daughter who is born at the right time and who subsequently disappears is this one. The Census records her name as Ellen, but Nellie is often seen as a diminutive for same. [Bob H]
