Notes - It seems that there is no mistaking the two parties to this marriage. What is not clear is how each party managed to marry someone else, she three years later and he five years later. In these latter marriages although everyone involved seems to have been Anglican, both before and after the wedding, the marriage itself was performed at a Baptist Church (one in Chester and the other in Halifax) where the participants would not have been known.
I suspect that the Baptist minister who married Sarah Louise TRUEMAN and William KEANS didn't ask too many questions beCAUSe first, Sarah gives her name as Sarah DAUPHINEE, d/o Thomas and Sarah DAUPHINEE and, probably more importantly, the marriage occurs ten days before the birth of Sarah & William's first child.
However, it would appear that something must have occurred to formally dissolve this marriage beCAUSe the St. Luke's, Hubbard's Parish Register was overwritten to declare the children of Sarah TRUEMAN and William KEANS to be legitimate. There is no record of a divorce, so the best guess is that there was an annulment. - It seems that there is no mistaking the two parties to this marriage.
