- In the 1861 Census, there are only two TRUEMAN families at Hubbards--Thomas and Mary. Thomas is Thomas Sr, b. 1807 and he has 3 males and 4 females in the household, none of whom could be this Sophia. Mary is Anna Mary WAGER, widow, mother of Thomas,Sr., and she has 2 males and 2 females in the household. One of the females is her, and the only other known female in this family is her daughter Elizabeth; but Elizabeth m. William RUDER in 1844 so it isn't her. It could also be Eunice Deborah, d/o John William, who m. Dec 1871, but I rather doubt it. I suspect it is Sophia, a sister to John William, who goes to keep house for the widowed John William when Mary Ann WAGNER dies in 1867. Otherwise, since she seems to have been born abt. 1812, where did she come from? The only other possibility is that she is one of the unknown children of John and Catherine (Covey) TRUEMAN; but that lot are all Hackett's Cove, not Hubbards, TRUEMAN's, so what would she be doing in Hubbards?.
