Notes |
- Nothing is known of her except that she appears in the listing of children of Alexander given be several of his descendants. For example, Geraldine Sarty, granddaughter of Zachariah, said her mother Laura Belle told her that 'Zack' had 4 brothers: Ezekiel, Daniel, Samuel, and Farcee(?); and 4 sisters: Mary, Margaret, Etta, and Rachel [Source: Lois Jenkins].
Now I think we know that every one of the above children, including Zachariah [assuming Israel is Farcee, which I suspect is a corruption of “Pharisee”], save Etta, belong to Alexander and Mary MEISNER; so it would appear from this that Etta belongs to Mary.
Elizabeth, b. 22 Feb 1833 does not appear in this list, so it is possible that she and Etta are the same person. But note that Elizabeth does appear, along with Etta, in Zula (HARNISH) HUBLEY's litany of Alexander's children. On the othr hand, it is also possible that Zula confused a nickname with a given name and listed the same person twice.
In any event, she is carried here as a separate person until more concrete evidence is available showing that she is not. [Bob H]
