- In 1886, a James M. HUBLEY born NS, s/o Benjamin and Elizabeth HUBLEY, marries Annie Lawrence in Chelsea, MA and they reside in Chelsea until he apparently dies in 1904. We also know that the 1880 and 1900 Census of Boston has his mother's place of birth as Scotland.
However, we also know that the William Benjamin HUBLEY b. 1850 who marries Maria NORCROSS lives in Athol, MA in the 1900 Census. But the 1892 City Directory for Chelsea, MA, where James and wife Annie are known to reside, not only has a James M. HUBLEY but, for the same address has this entry “William HUBLEY, moved to Athol, MA”.
Given that James' father is known to be named Benjamin and given that he has been living with a known son of Benjamin 1819, in 1891-1892, I believe that we can confidently place James M. HUBLEY in the family of Benjamin 1819. [Bob H]
