- From the LWT of Christina (HIRTLE) FADER 1770, wife of Johann Jacob FADER 1767, and from Lunenburg County land records, it is certain that Helena Elizabeth FADER, d/o Jacob and Christina, marries a Conrad MEISNER. But from the following birth record, it would appear that a Conrad MEISNER marries one Helena Elizabeth SCHAUFFELBURG:
"MEISNER","Sarah Ann","B","1831-04-11","1831-04-17","ZLL","Conrad & Helene Eliz Schaufelberg",,"Valentine Schauffelberger"
However, in poking around various sources (e.g., the 1871 Census), I can come up with only one Conrad MEISNER who appears to fit the total picture:
"MEISNER","Conrad","B","1806-07-11","1806-07-11","ZLL","Conrad & Eva Margaret Masson",,
What I suspect happened is that somebody (whose initials may or may not be Don Shankle) mis-copied a record and that, while Valentine SCHAUFFELBERG may well have sponsored Sarah Ann's baptism, his name accidentally got attached to the wife of Conrad MEISNER, which should be FADER, not SCHAUFFLEBERG.
