  There is little doubt as to the Identity of the Silas E. JOUDREY who marries Clara NIFORT in Jan1899--his age , parents, date and place of birth, etc, all match. However, in both the 1901 and 1911 Census, and on his death certificate, he is listed as 'Single”. The explanation probably lies in the fact that, in 1911, an Aubrey JOUDREY, b. Apr 1899, is living with his grandparents--Albert and Sophia NIFORT, who just happen to be the parents of Clara NIFORT. So it would appear that Clara dies in, or shortly after her first childbirth.
